Kitzinger Vinometer, alcohol meter 0-25 Vol.%
With the Kitzinger Vinometer you measure the alcohol content of your finished wine directly, without a lab. The scale ranges from 0 to 25 Vol.%, the reading accuracy is ±0,5 Vol.%.
Here's how it works: you fill the funnel with clear wine, turn the tube over and read off how far the liquid stays in the capillary. The device uses surface tension, which changes with the alcohol content.
An honest limitation: the vinometer only works reliably with fully fermented, dry wine. Residual sweetness distorts the value because sugar changes the surface tension. For the must stage you use a must hydrometer. The device comes from the range of the traditional company Arauner, founded in Kitzingen in 1897 (in operation until 2024); we continue to offer the original remaining stocks.
