At Maischewerk, it is usually all about making your own wine, mead, cider and vinegar. Before Christmas, baking joins the list. For now, you will find three products from the Hayma brand in this category. Neunerlei is a gingerbread spice (Pfefferkuchengewürz, Lebkuchengewürz), Treibkraft is a raising agent for Lebkuchen and Pfefferkuchen, and the set contains both.

Pfefferkuchen and Lebkuchen are two names for the same baked good. The “Pfeffer” (pepper) in the word Pfefferkuchen stands for strong spicing. According to the packaging, one sachet of Treibkraft is enough for 1 kg of flour. Your recipe tells you how much spice goes into the dough.
