Arauner Kitzinger Alcohol Meter with Thermometer, 0-100%

This alcohol meter measures alcohol content from 0 to 100 % vol and has a built-in thermometer so you can factor in the temperature when taking a reading; hydrometer spindles are calibrated to a fixed reference temperature.

Important: the instrument is intended only for distillates such as brandies and fruit spirits, not for wine or mash. In sugary or not-yet-distilled liquid, an alcohol meter gives no usable reading; for that you need a must hydrometer or a refractometer.

From the original stock of the Kitzingen company founded in 1897 by pharmacist Paul Arauner, which closed in 2024.
