The Bordeaux is one of the workhorses among the Kitzinger yeasts: a Saccharomyces cerevisiae bayanus strain that ferments steadily and thoroughly, leaves little residual sugar and also reaches higher alcohol levels. It keeps working reliably even at low temperatures.
That is exactly what makes it the first choice when a fermentation has stalled: with this yeast you restart stuck batches. It is also suitable for secondary fermentation and sparkling wine making.
Original Kitzinger yeast from Arauner, the traditional company founded in 1897 by the pharmacist Paul Arauner in Kitzingen, whose operations ended in May 2024. We are selling the remaining original stock while supplies last.
